Educational Goals

Course features
The Horse Breeding course allows students to acquire special knowledge about horse breeding. From a zootechnical point of view, the student focuses on the acquisition of theoretical and practical knowledge in breeding, breeding, reproduction, nutrition, skin hygiene (horse breeding), hoof care and horse transport.

Learning results
Skills-Abilities
Graduates from a practical point of view will be able to apply their knowledge: in small and medium farms as members of the main group dealing with the zootechnical management of the holding. They will be able to reliably apply their experience and solve problems that will arise in breeding. They will be able to solve complex and unforeseen problems and where necessary they will be able to seek specialized professional help. They will be able to use the knowledge to implement the business plan and run their own business in equine breeding.

Decision
Graduates will be able to evaluate and develop their personal skills, as well as the performance and skills of their team members. They will be able to guide specialized teams in horse breeding and be responsible for the work performed. They will be able to control projects that include tasks such as planning, organizing, implementing and expressing their opinion. The graduate will be able to operate in work environments that are partially changeable and easily adaptable. It will also have the ability to manage projects and activities that are subject to unforeseen circumstances. Applying the knowledge they will acquire they will have the ability to give creative solutions to any problems that may arise.

Graduates will be able to share information, ideas and provide solutions to problems to both specialized and non-specialized audiences. They will be able to present and justify their view on horse breeding which, on the other hand, will also represent the view of the members of the team with which they work. They will be able to make their presentations using the appropriate audiovisual media.

Use of ICT means

Το μάθημα πραγματοποιείται με τη χρήση ηλεκτρονικών πολυμέσων.
Οι ανάγκες του εν λόγω μαθήματος καλύπτονται με computer, σύνδεση Internet και dataprojector.
Ως Εκπαιδευτικό Λογισμικό χρησιμοποιoύνται το PowerPoint, Word, Excel και DVDs.
Η επικοινωνία με τους φοιτητές γίνεται μέσω πλατφόρμας Moodle και e-mail.

  • Γραπτή τελική εξέταση (80%) που περιλαμβάνει ερωτήσεις στη Θεωρία (Διαλέξεις).
  • Μελέτη και ανάλυση βιβλίων και άρθρων και εκπόνηση Εργασίας (20%).
