The Department currently operates three statutory directions:
Department of Agricultural Economy and Entrepreneurship (AOE)
The direction of Agricultural Economy and Entrepreneurship covers the knowledge field related to the economics of agricultural activities of plant and animal production, the organization and administration of agricultural enterprises in the agricultural sector. It also covers the sustainable utilization of natural and other rural resources, as well as any activity that contributes, directly or indirectly, to the international competitiveness and outward development of the agri-food sector, as well as to the improvement of the quality of life.
Department of Animal Production Science (EZP)
The direction of Animal Production Science covers the knowledge field of Animal Science and related scientific disciplines, with an emphasis on the application of modern scientific and technological methods in the breeding, nutrition, improvement, reproduction and health of mainly farm animals, as well as companion animals. It also covers the methods of production, processing and standardization of products of animal origin, animal feed and in general the production of inputs.
Plant Production Department (FP)
The Plant Production direction covers the field of knowledge related to the science and technology of plant capital, the production of products of plant origin, the exploitation, standardization, maintenance and disposal of products, the production and disposal of agricultural inputs, as well as activities that contribute in the quality of life of the rural and urban household. It also deals with the management, regeneration and protection of the urban, peri-urban and rural natural environment.
