Konstantinou Maria

She holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Ph.D. from the Department of Biology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Currently, she is a Professor in the Department of Agriculture, School of Geotechnical Sciences, at the International Hellenic University. Her research focuses on the study of flora, vegetation, and the ecology of metalliferous areas. Recently, she has been actively involved in research in the field of Nickel Agromining and in the development/establishment of nickel hyperaccumulator cultivation (metal farming) in Greece. Additionally, she works on the evaluation of native plant species for their utilization in Landscape Architecture.
To date, she has published 40 scientific articles in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences, 30 articles in national conference proceedings, 1 book chapter, and 1 book (Scopus: h-index: 6, total number of citations: 142 and Google Scholar: h-index: 8, total number of citations: 276). She has participated in 15 research projects, being the sceinentifically responsible in 6 of them. She teaches in the Master’s Programs of the University of Ioannina and the International Hellenic University.
