Professor Ourania Notta is an academic and researcher with more than 20 years of experience in the field of Agricultural Economics. She is currently a Professor of Agricultural Economics at the International Hellenic University (IHU, www.ihu.gr) in Thessaloniki, Greece, where she has been teaching since 2003. She is the Director of the Institute of Agricultural Industries of I.H.U. and the Director of the Postgraduate Program “Innovative Systems of Sustainable Agricultural Production” (www.msc-issap.gr) of the Department of Agriculture of the I.H.U. Currently, Prof. Notta is the president of the Commission for “Gender Equality and Anti-Discrimination”, an advisory body to the Administration of the International Hellenic University. She has served as Vice-Chairman of the Research Committee of the Special Research Funds Account of Technological Institute of Thessaloniki and member of the Research Committee of the Special Research Funds Account of IHU.
Prof. Notta has a publication record, with over 80 research papers, book chapters, and monographs to her credit. Her research has focused on various topics in agricultural economics, including agribusiness management, industrial economics, food marketing, rural development, and sustainable agriculture. Prof. Notta is an active member of several professional associations, including the European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE) and the Hellenic Agricultural Economics Society. She has served on the editorial boards of several academic journals.
